Dr Rosemary Atkinson graduated from Sydney University with a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery in 2004. She worked in various areas of the hospital system before completing specialist training in General Practice in 2013. 

Since Fellowship, she has worked in general practice clinics before ultimately developing a special interest in weight management and establishing a multidisciplinary weight management clinic in Sydney in 2021 with her Dietitian colleague, Caroline Shannon. In doing so, they realised how common mental health struggles are, particularly ADHD and disordered eating, amongst patients with weight concerns. Rosie has expanded on ADHD as an area of interest by working with a Psychiatrist delivering care in this space.

Rosie is a member of the RACGP (Royal Australia College of General Practitioner), as well as of the Special Interest Groups for Obesity Management and ADHD, ASD and Neurodiversity. She is a member of ANZMOSS, IFSO and has achieved SCOPE Certification.
